Volunteering

All of our clubs are supported by a team of volunteers and we are always looking for more people to get involved.
Volunteering is personally satisfying, great fun and really rewarding, so please think about giving us some of your time – as little as a couple of hours a week can help enormously.
There are no special qualifications or experience needed to become a volunteer. Many of our volunteers had no experience of working with people with a learning disability before joining us.
You can:
• increase your confidence
• meet new people and make new friends
• have fun
• feel good about yourself

Volunteering looks good on a CV and can count towards the Duke of Edinburgh award.

Have a look at our current volunteering opportunities below. If you are interesting in volunteering, please contact Muriel by emailing muriel@northamptonmencap.org.uk or phoning 01604 874710.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Volunteers are needed to help out at the social club, setting up equipment and supporting the members to undertake their chosen activity.

Youth Club
Every Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm
Age- 14 years to 25 years

This is our group for young people which meet every Tuesday evening. We meet at The Boughton Centre in Far Cotton where we have a relaxed, social atmosphere. We organise one sports game in the hall and an activity in the dining room for each week but we also have a games and social area where members can spend time with friends, hang out, play games, Wii, darts or pool.

You don’t need to be particularly sporty or active to volunteer, just a willingness to get involved and a positive attitude!
