Visit to The Good Food Show – NEC

On Thursday 26th November 2015 a small group of volunteers/members went to Birmingham NEC to have a look around the GOOD FOOD SHOW. I (Martin Coleman) have never been to Birmingham NEC before. IT’S A MASSIVE PLACE!!!!

We left the Boughton Centre approx. 9.30 am.(half an hour late). There wasn’t too much traffic about. We arrived in the NEC car park approx. 11 am. (£12 parking). The Food Show was quite busy not too bad. I walked around with Muriel, Margret & Gary. Gary pushed Margret’s wheelchair. The other’s went around in another group. My group must have seen every cheese stall at the show. It turned out Margret and Muriel love cheese. I tried a cheddar cheese with whiskey and orange in it, I loved and bought some (£3.50). THAT’S ALL I SPENT!!!!! 🙁 I also tried two sorts of whiskey (which I liked) and a Cornish Beer.

At 2.30 pm we met up with the other group. We met outside one of the halls which had been made into a theatre. A lot of people went to the show as well. The show was Michael Roux Jr cooking live. I was drooling over his roast potatoes (it sounded like everyone else was too)  After the show my group and I looked around a bit more and then we all met up at half 3 to come home. We left about 4 pm. we got home about six pm. On the way home we showed each other our purchases.
